The same Derrick Jensen who went on to found Deep Green Resistance, no less… A great pity to think that someone capable of such depths of sensitivity, and who once called for all marginalised groups to stand together, would later decide trans people are not welcome. 😦

My belief is that he felt the pressing need to make his organisation (a hardcore environmentalist group) more popular with the radical left, who tend not to like trans people any more than the conservative left… but as you say, if his faith in both God and human nature is so low as to stoop to such cynicism, he is certainly more to be pitied that censured.
