Here Among These Ruins

I spend a lotta time out here,
in these ruins made so soft
with moss and time’s unceasing flow
that rubs away the razor edge

and dulls the sharpest aching grief
that haunts and sanctifies those things
amidst the stones that sing of glory
here, abandoned and now gently

haunting precious mourning here

among these ruins

  1. You create the mood so beautifully, and leave us with a sense of mystery and melancholy that makes one want to reach into the world of your poem and comfort the protagonist in her grief.
