Remind me again how the patriarchy does not oppress women and children?

“message to all you privileged white american girls saying “we don’t need feminism” because you don’t “feel oppressed” here’s an example of why we DO still need feminism and a friendly reminder that the rest of the f**kn world exists too”

Speaking up for Gender Equality: “If not me, who? If not now, when?”

I don’t know why I didn’t think of reblogging this immediately!! But I dreamed about it last night, so here it is Constance.

Here is the deal with Dani…writing technique is precise and on point, intelligence and awareness informs that technique and keeps it quickened and living, topical selection is relevant and current, but more than anything else is that living throbbing sticky HEART that keeps every single one of us coming back for more.

I have been accused of being a fawning sycophant for Dani (giggle…first time in my life for that one!!)…but that is not true.  The fact is she is a writer of true talent and dedicated application of that talent.  Don’t believe me?  Just browse back thru her posts…you’ll see.  She will get you with one of her arrows, for sure.

You go, Girl, you go…and Constance, you go too over the BloomingSpiders and push “Follow”.

Love to my Sis…Charissa

All that is needed for the forces of evil to triumph is for good men and women to do nothing. –Edmund Burke (1729-1797)

I turn 35 in nine days and, as is customary for this time of year, I take some heart notes on where I am and, more importantly, who I am.  I’d like to say that I have it together.  That I know every scar and tear in my soul’s heart, but that would be a lie.  And I don’t lie.  Not anymore.

This past year my thoughts have drifted over the length of who I am.  I have chosen my emotional metric to be strides taken, words spoken and moments of self shared.  I have looked beyond my shell to the soft center of my personhood.  And there…I have found pearls.  Among them sits this:

I am a woman.

And blessed to…

Constance…here it is again:  an attitude, a threat…and the woman blamed simply for being.

Read the link, and digest the threat, made by a man…and then consider the response made.  Of course, in the name of safety, of not taking chances…right?  Which is implicitly also saying that if the woman did not desire the free expression of her thoughts in a venue that had solicited her input, then none of this would have happened.

Frankly, it sticks in my craw and is not something I am swallowing or buying.  And this is my position regardless of how easy or difficult my own journey is right now.  Some things are never okay…no matter who says them, no matter why they are said.

I have not caused anyone to do anything simply by anything I say, do, or am…and neither does any other woman.  Whoever it is that says something, does something or is something is responsible for the things they said, did, or chose.

Wisdom is key, yes.  Discretion to be desired above gold…but this feminist lecturer did not cause this situation…the poor, deluded, sick bully who wrote what he wrote absolutely did.

Charissa Grace, resolute and clear minded…
thinking of justice…praying for mercy, in me and for me…and finding it so difficult to even know what humility is, let alone walking in it…

…I have come too far to be chased back to shame and silence.

Vignettes from the outlet mall

she was talking, allowing her voice to carry.

“She is a loud, obnoxious froward woman!”

she was quiet, moving from rack to rack, circumspect and quick inside.

“She is an icy haughty bitch, too good to talk to us!”

she dressed with pizazz and showed a bit of skin with skillful concealment.

“She is a slut and slingin’ it around, the little prick tease!”

she dressed modestly, clothes fig leaves concealing naked limbs.

“She is such a shovel face, plain patty and doesn’t give a crap about how she looks!”

she smiled at his complement.

“She wants you, dawg!!”

she shot him a dirty look and told him to back off.

“She is such a c***! Can’t she just accept the attention and be grateful!?”

Sadly, all of those incantation,
spoken to control and other
came from both
male and female hearts,
brains turned off
and lights inside
darker than death’s own heart.

I want to be clear…

The entitled assumed privilege and whiny titty-baby attitude of white males makes me want to PUKE!

And it is even worse to hear them wail dramatically about how hard their life is and how much trouble the lost, the voiceless, the powerless cause them when they make their need and desires and destinies known! OMFG!!  I want to SCREAM!

Know this, baby boys…someday the word mercy is going to have a new meaning, cus you are gonna be judged by the children of your slaves.

NOW:  women…do NOT take the bait that is offered you in the name of feminism!!  There is a true feminism, which involves discovering the essence and power of your being and the amazing gift you are to the universe as the crowning pinnacle of all created things, and the only being ever who was created from living flesh (yes, I am referring to the Genesis story, Myth with a capital M and pregnant with mystery and truth packed in…think about it…all made from dirt, and then woman made from living flesh)…

…and then there is this diabolical and demonic doctrine masquerading as equality, that at its core simply wants to strip us of all our essential mystery and power and change us into female men, and thus still slaves, though the chains changed to gold.

PURSUE your true destiny!  Forge past the clouds of knowing and riverbanks of thought that stultify and choke off true revelation, and soar into those golden heights and velvet depths that are the wellsprings and fonts of Mama’s flow to women which will indeed deliver us to a better place, and help restore the shattered Image to wholeness.

Amen and amen…

Love, Charissa
